“Success consists of going from failure to improvements without losing enthusiasm (inspired by W. Churchill)“. This quote illustrates well what the AEHT has experienced the last decade. The AEHT's first Youth in Action project in 2010 was rejected by the Commission, but since 2011, with the exception of 2017, all our Christmas in Europe editions, all with their own particularities inspired by the host country, have been co-financed first by the Youth in Action, and then by the Erasmus program. In 2018, after the rejection of our project, we started all over again; by deepening the reflection on the objective and expected results of a youth mobility project, by reinforcing the active participation of our young people from the beginning until the evaluation of the activities, by adding energizers and ice-breaker games to foster group cohesion and interaction, including new activities, mixed group activities and evaluation sessions, ..... 

Implementing all these changes in an extremely short period of time has been an enormous challenge, and after a first attempt in 2018 in Riga and several adjustments to our project for 2019, we are honored to inform our members that this morning the AEHT received the prestigious 'Erasmus Trophy' for the Christmas in Europe event 2019 in Barcelona. We would like to take this opportunity to thank not only the organizers of 2019, but all organizing teams, with whom our experience has grown stronger over the years, as each edition has represented a key step in the journey towards this great recognition. Many thanks also to all the participants - mentors and students - whose creative ideas, overflowing motivation, tireless dynamism, joyful European spirit, ... enabled us to make this event more successful than ever imagined. Congratulations to all of you for this great achievement. We all hope to see you this year in Waterford.
