Happy New Year

Dear members of the AEHT / Dear friends,

Despite all safety regulations I hope you all enjoyed Christmas and had a prosperous start of 2021. I like to take this opportunity to wish you and your love ones a happy and above all healthy 2021!
We left behind a miserable 2020 with a lot of fear, grieve and pain. The perspective however is promising; the European Medicines Agency authorized the first Covid-19 vaccine and all over Europe they started with the vaccination of the population. This means the end of the dark tunnel is visible but we are not there yet. We have to hold on, pay attention to the people around us and persist in taking care of each other.
During the first week of December 2020 we experienced our first online Annual Conference of the AEHT. Around 400 directors, teachers and students participated in the different online events. It shows that, despite the fact that we were not able to meet each other in person, the AEHT spirit is very much alive. We are all convinced that internationalization within our schools is a vital part of our students’ education and the AEHT is the stepping stone to fulfill this ambition. Keeping this in mind, the Presidium is working full swing towards a series of AEHT events in 2021. We hope to meet you all in November in Tallinn for the Annual Conference and in December in Waterford for the Christmas in Europe event. The prospect of meeting all of you again in person fills me with joy and happiness and gives a tremendous boost for the beginning of this New Year.
For now, stay safe and have a lot of success in dealing with the challenges you face within your school. Please don’t hesitate to share these challenges with us since as AEHT family, we are strong, hold together and help each other.
Kind regards,

Remco Koerts
President AEHT
