Dear members of the AEHT / Dear friends, 

In light of the Coronavirus, the Director of Escola de Formação Profissional em Turismo de Aveiro, along with the Presidium of the AEHT, are forced to conclude that the AEHT Annual Conference & Competitions 2020, can no longer take place as planned from 2-7 of November 2020 in Aveiro, Portugal. All parties involved in organizing and participating in the Annual Conference in Aveiro, including competitors, teachers, directors, volunteers, organizers, partners, sponsors, and its suppliers, are all facing the current impact of the pandemic. The effects of Covid-19 will influence every public (international) event in the foreseeable future. As a result, the organization of the Annual Conference Aveiro 2020 has become impossible.

We know that this is very disappointing news to the whole AEHT Family. We were all looking forward to the annual reunion with our AEHT friends and provide the opportunity for the students to compete in different professional international competitions. However, the safety and wellbeing of our students, teachers and directors, is paramount.

It is evident that the organizing team in Aveiro already put a lot of love, work and effort in preparing the annual conference this year. It is there for a great pleasure to inform you that Manuel Torrão, the Director of the school in Aveiro, announced with determination that he is welcoming us all in Aveiro for an AEHT annual conference somewhere in the coming years. The Presidium of the AEHT will deliberate with the organizers of the annual conference already scheduled for the next three years to determine the definite sequence. As you all know these organizers are in random order: Aveiro-Portugal, Costa Cruise in the Adriatic & Ionian Sea and Senigallia-Italy. We will inform you all as soon as possible.
