Manuela Germani, School Director of the IPSSEOA ‘F.Buscemi’

Manuela Germani, School Director of the IPSSEOA ‘F.Buscemi’Manuela Germani, School Director of the IPSSEOA ‘F.Buscemi’A few hours before the gala evening marking the end of Christmas in Europe 2016, Manuela Germani, Director of the IPSSEOA ‘F. Buscemi’ willingly agreed to be interviewed and was helped in this case by her translator Léonella Ferrarini.
In her director’s office, where the Italian and European flags have pride of place, Manuela Germani made no secret of her great satisfaction. As befits someone who heads up a school with 150 teachers and 900 students, the School Director has an expression of unassailable serenity.

‘Right from the start of the event everything has been going well and I have to say that the whole of the school is pleased and the objectives we had planned for the students have been achieved. 20-30% of the teachers and around a hundred students physically took part in the Christmas event.’

‘The feedback I’ve had from the students has been very positive and they have worked very hard to ensure the success of this event, which provides proof of their professionalism, if such proof were needed. The teachers gave their opinion, and this allowed the students to have the good fortune to do practical work at an international level.’

‘As for the organisation itself, we also had to try to motivate the sponsors. Here again the result has been very good, both from institutional sponsors and from suppliers. So that is why, from a financial point of view, we should be ok. We’ll see. Moreover we are in the process of preparing a questionnaire for our partners and for our students so as to assess the different phases of Christmas in Europe.’

As usual in this context you need to glean the impressions of several participants in Christmas in Europe, even though the answers are more or less always the same. Yes we are delighted to take part. Yes the atmosphere is extraordinary. Yes we’ve got to know people from the other delegations. Yes we appreciate how useful it is to get to know other cultures etc …
