Considering the number of schools participating in the Christmas in Europe event in Diekirch, the organizers decided " to meet halfway ". Thererfore, on Friday, December 4th twelve schools were selected, namely Presov, Ponta Delgada, Bjelovar, Yerevan, Lund, Podebrady, Marseille, Semmering, Waterford, Senigallia, San Benedetto and Diekirch.
The very well-kept set of the dining room of the LTH with its market stalls once more invited the guest to plunge into a hushed atmosphere of this buffet prepared by the selected schools. Actually, it was for all a delight at first for the eye.
Throughout the day, the teams worked hard in the kitchens to prepare the specialities and the dishes offered for tasting.
It is at 7 pm that Mrs Elisabeth Reisen welcomed the guests at this buffet, in particular M. Peadar Carpenter, ambassador of Ireland, the sponsors of the LTH as well as the Ana Paula Pais president of the AEHT and Christiane Keller, initiator of Christmas in Europe.
The latter reminded participants in a few words of the purpose of Christmas in Europe while wishing all of the assembly a very beautiful evening before inviting the assistance to discover the specialities first with the eyes before savouring them!
Among the guests were also Louis Robert, the former headmaster of the LTH and also former president of the AEHT, Remco Koerts and Herman Siebens vice-presidents, former teachers of the LTH and the members of “ Council of the Elders” of the AEHT, such as Jürgen Clausen and Roy van Sassen, former vice-presidents. And it was for all a memorable evening with a colourful musical entertainment by pupils and Teachers of the High school Ermesinde in Mersch, and later by Silvia Ulpiani and Alberto Ameli of San Benedetto del Tronto.
The following evening, on Saturday, December 5th, it was in the turn of the schools of Ischia, Fatima, Maribor, Bled, Bad Ischl, Porec, Barcelona, Orebro, Riga, Faro and Diekirch to be prolific. With an identical planning as the previous evening, however with fewer dinner guests. Mia Aouadi, deputy headmistress, had the pleasure to send some welcoming words to invite the assistance to focus their interest on the various dishes put forward for tasting.
