EUROPEAN BUFFET
GASTRONOMY HAS PRIDE OF PLACE
On Friday November 30th, on the third day of the event, the European buffet took pride of place. It is a convivial moment which each year is a great success. And this is no surprise, since each delegation has brought in its luggage the produce necessary to prepare the specialities which are specific to each country. These preparations took place in the kitchens of the Giorgio Perlasca School, with the additional difficulty that all the dishes had to be transported from the School to the Cultural Centre.
At the appointed hour all the dishes were in place on beautifully decorated tables. At the entrance to the vast hall, an apéritif awaited the guests, who were greeted by Csilla Dévényi, director of the school, accompanied by Csomós Miklós, deputy mayor of Budapest and by Christiane Keller, founder of Christmas in Europe. In a few words the three speakers welcomed everyone, and wished them great pleasure in tasting this myriad of specialities brought together in such a space. Once the speeches were finished, Csomós Miklós proposed a toast, then, following the advice of Christiane Keller, the guests were invited to admire the sight of the buffet before being served by the creators of these magnificently presented dishes – to which the participants did ample justice throughout the evening.
